Henri Hiro
French Polynesia aims to deliver an international-standard badminton and para table tennis venue for the 2027 Pacific Games. Designed to meet international competition requirements, the facility will also serve the long-term legacy needs of schools, sports clubs, and the wider community after the event.
The project is carefully integrated into a heterogeneous urban context, taking advantage of the existing slopes to manage circulation and establish clear connections between the site’s different levels, including Henri Hiro College, the caretaker’s residence, and the existing parking areas.
A deliberate material and colour palette reinforces the building’s identity while responding to the tropical climate. White and sage green façades reduce solar heat gain and blend harmoniously with the surrounding vegetation, while brick red and medium grey interiors provide optimal visual comfort for players during competition.
