Masterplan Moorea

Located on Moorea, this project aims to restore the site’s vitality and appeal while preserving and enhancing its authentic Polynesian character. Designed primarily for the island’s residents and accessible to everyone, the masterplan is organized into three distinct zones, each with its own identity and program.

The Coconut Grove accommodates public amenities, local crafts, and retail, including a market, a municipal branch office, a youth center, and a traditional crafts pavilion (fare). The Lagoon is dedicated to recreation and leisure, featuring a beach, a Tamanu grove, and a multi-purpose sports court. The Mountain zone brings together commercial and service-oriented activities.

The architecture embraces a tropical, bioclimatic approach, using natural, locally sourced materials in a restrained design that responds harmoniously to its surroundings. The project seeks to restore the site’s original vocation as a vibrant place for gathering, exchange, and community life for the people of Moorea.
