Villa in Arue
In Arue, at an elevated site, this villa reveals itself in a sequence of spaces. From the street, the entrance first leads to the carport. An ornamental wall, both austere and protective, creates an initial sense of distance while preserving the mystery of the place. Large wooden gates must be passed through to enter the property and reach a patio, an intermediary space between the house and the boundary wall.
The house then unfolds along its length. The living room and kitchen are positioned between the patio and the terrace, creating a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living. The infinity pool extends this perspective, drawing the eye toward the horizon, where the ocean opens between Moorea at one end and Pointe Vénus at the other.
Set apart from the rest of the house, the master bedroom faces Pointe Vénus and features its own outdoor bathroom. On the opposite side, the children’s and guest bedrooms are arranged around a library opening onto views of Moorea.
